A. GENERAL INFORMATION
----------------------------------------------------------------

0. Title of Dataset: "Transit Reliability Improvement and Performance (TRIPS) Stage 1 Final Data Set"

1. Description of Dataset: "The datasets contains reports and protype travel time data that were generated as the first phase of the TRIPS project. Reports such as Final Implementation Report, that includes the SEMP, ConOps, and the travel time data from proof-of-concept/protype Route 57. The SEMP defines how the Centralized Transit Signal Priority (TSP) system will be planned, executed, monitored and controlled throughout the project lifecycle. While ConOps describes how the system will be used from an operational perspective. And the travel time data from Route 57 to support system evaluation."

C. DATA & RELATED FILE OVERVIEW
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. File List for the Transit Reliability Improvement and Performance (TRIPS) Stage 1 Final Data Set.zip collection

   A. Filename: TRIPS FINAL IMPLEMENTATION REPORT_Revised_1.1.pdf

Short description: The Final Implementation Report illustrates how the proof of concept or prototype performed relative to expectations and evaluates whether a full-scale implementation of the CTSP would meet the SMART Program’s goals. The report includes the System Engineering Management Plan that includes the Draft Verification Plan, Draft Memorandum of Understanding, Proof-of-Concept Route 57 Report, Public Engagement Reprot, and the Centralized Transit Signal Priority Technical Deployment Evaluation.

   B. Filename: VTA TRIPS FINAL_ConOps_ver1.3.pdf

Short description: The Concept of Operation Report describes how the system will function from an operational perspective.

   C. Filename: route57_april24-25_weekday.csv

Short description: This data contains stop-to-stop travel time data for VTA’s Fast and Frequent Route 57 for April 2024 and 2025. The data was pulled directly from VTA’s CAD/AVL (Computer-Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location) system.

   D. Filename: README_route57_april24-25_weekday.txt

Short description: This file provides context for the route57_april_weekday.csv file and defines the data elements necessary for proper interpretation.

----------------------------------------------------------------
D. METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: "Data from Santa Clara’s Kimley-Horn and San José’s LYT TSP systems on Route 57 were analyzed using traffic signal controller and VTA CAD/AVL data. Data were collected pre-implementation (April 2024) and post-implementation (April 2025) to assess system impacts on transit performance and traffic operations. Analyses considered the full corridor, agency-specific operations, and time-of-day segments (AM peak, midday, PM peak, evening) to provide a comprehensive view of system effectiveness."

2. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: "The data was pulled directly from VTA’s CAD/AVL system. Then was compiled and organzied using Microsoft Excel"
